A church with Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors

Youth

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Matthew 19:14

A Moment At His Feet is a time during the first Sunday of the month when the children remain in the service that the Pastor spends with the children sharing with them an object lesson designed to help them discover a truth of the Bible on their level. Each object lesson is planned to work in harmony with the sermon in an effort to help families grow together, regardless of their age.

The first Sunday of each month we celebrate the Holy Communion.  The children are asked to stay in the service with their parents, fully participating in the service with the church family.

Messy Church is a new program being offered here at Onaway UMC. Messy church offers mission projects, arts & crafts, songs, Bible stories, and dinner that is all geared to help not only the youth but the adults who come to grow in their knowledge and love for the Lord and His people. We invite you to come, bring a friend, and have fun with us. Messy Church is the 3rd Sunday of every  month, 4 - 6 pm.

Nursery is available each Sunday for newborn up to age 4. Understanding that it is some of our earliest moments of life that shape us we believe that each moment should be embraced. Regardless of age, nursery time is a time filled with singing, story telling, and being engaged in the child's life - talking and listening - encouraging them to continue to grow in the Lord.

Sunday School...or Sunday Funday Club! Is a great time for the kids to learn about God and do activities that will help them experience God on a personal level and be able to remember the lessons throughout the week. The Sunday Funday Club meets in the children's room, connected to the nursery, at 9:30 AM and ends at the conclusion of church. The first Sunday of each month there will be no Funday Club as we encourage parents and children to worship together as a family on Holy Communion Sundays.

Vacation Bible School is an amazing time of fun and outreach. Each summer we host a Vacation Bible School, inviting children from all over, to join us in fun, learning of the Bible, food, and did I mention fun?! Stay tuned as we begin to work on next year's VBS.  We are looking forward to it.

We will be organizing activities and fun times for our children and youth.  We believe that the Lord teaches in moments of laughter and service.  Activities will be promoted in church and on the web site. All activities will be supervised with trained workers.

All workers - nursery, Children's Church, and youth, are trained and have passed background checks. We take seriously the responsibility of protecting our children and we invite parents to come and see our facilities and meet our workers.
